04 Aug Dr Karen Darke MBE, announced as Keynote Speaker at the Vet Dynamics Conference 2021
Vet Dynamics are delighted to announce that Dr Karen Darke MBE will be joining us at the Vet Dynamics Conference 2021 as our Keynote Speaker
This long awaited CPD and celebration event, exclusively for independent practices, will be held at the Oxford Belfry on Friday 24th September with virtual attendees able to tune in and catch Karen’s talk and interact with live content throughout the day.
Purpose, Passion and Performance
Karen started working life as a geologist in the Bolivian Andes, researching gold, but a life-changing accident left her paralysed from the chest down. She moved away from being a ‘rock-doctor’ to find ways to align mind, body and spirit to do extraordinary things.
This led her to ski across icecaps, kayak at extreme latitudes of the planet, and handcycle the world’s biggest mountain ranges and longest rivers.
Karen believes we create results and happiness from the inside out. She believes that with desire, awareness and resources, and permission to unleash who we truly want to be, anything is possible.
‘Rebuild: A Toolkit to Regenerate the Veterinary World’
Demonstrating a comprehensive and compassionate awareness of the global veterinary climate, the 2021 Vet Dynamics Conference will address four pressing issues facing practice leaders today:
- Rejuvenating ourselves and the business model
- Re-engaging our teams and clients
- Rebooting the system with a ‘digital first’ strategy
- Renewing the Planet, one practice at a time
The Vet Dynamics 2021 conference provides a welcome opportunity for independent practice delegates, speakers, and sponsors alike, to reconnect and re-build a better future.
Whilst there are many veterinary social and CPD events throughout the year, the Vet Dynamics Conference remains the only space dedicated to and exclusively for independents. Expect forward-thinking CPD, industry experts, specially selected exhibitors, as well as the infamous Vetlife Auction and pub quiz.
This years’ Conference promises to see the independent community reuniting, rebuilding, and making positive strides toward a healthy, sustainable veterinary life and business.
Karen’s inspirational journey and message fits perfectly with our Rebuild theme providing delegates with the motivation to improve presence, performance, and well-being – subjects at the fore of our minds this year.
Vet Dynamics Director Alan Robinson said:
“It’s been a tough year for everyone, and I’m acutely aware of the particular struggles and isolation of our independent practices who have worked tirelessly and had to make tough decisions to get through these challenging months.
I’m hearing stories of burnout, fatigue, and dis-engagement in practice teams and across our profession. It would seem we have ‘fallen off a cliff’.
Courage, proactivity, accountability, and resilience will see us rebuild this profession from the bottom up. Karen’s personal story and her outlook in life epitomises these attributes – that ability to open the curtains every morning and face the world, whatever it offers – take what you have been dealt and make the world a better place.”
