Reuniting Community at the Rebuild Conference

Reuniting Community at the Rebuild Conference

Regenerating the veterinary world was one purpose of the 2021 Vet Dynamics Conference. Being together again was the other…

Held at the Oxford Belfry Hotel, more than 100 independent practice owners attended in person and almost 50 joined virtually for what was possibly the most urgent theme addressed in recent years of the Conference.

The Conference ran over two days, with the first day being devoted to the Vet Dynamics members who celebrated being together again for the first time in almost 2 years.

The CPD focused on four subjects: Rejuvenating the Business Model, Re-engaging People with Purpose, Rebooting the System and Renewing the Planet.

Dr Karen Darke MBE opened the event with an inspirational Keynote presentation which demonstrated the limitless possibilities achievable with the right mindset. Jack Peploe (Veterinary IT Services) enlightened delegates with an entertaining and engaging talk on vet tech.

Dr Laura Sullivan MRCVS (All Scrubbed Up Scrub Hats) explored the diverse ways practices can operate sustainably and protect the planet in the process. Laura Fincu demonstrated how one person really can make a difference, as she shared details of her tremendous work in Romania and the motivation behind it.

One of the most powerful elements of the day was hearing from the Independents themselves; as Alan encouraged members to share their experiences in his emotive and inspiring Re-Engage session.

In addition to the lectures and evening entertainment, thirty leading suppliers in the veterinary field supported the event with exhibitions, talks and innovative demonstrations.

To reach a wider audience, Vet Dynamics live streamed the Auction in support of Vetlife. Thanks to the enormous compassion and generosity of everyone involved a record £16,440 was raised on the night.

Director Vicky Robinson said “Seeing our members laughing together again – that’s the best thing I’ll take away from this year’s Conference. Kindness to themselves and compassion for each other is what will see practices and teams come together, pull through and rebuild a better tomorrow.”

Director Alan Robinson said ‘’ This was so much more than an event, now is the time to rip up the playbook and build something better for us all. Our conference was just the starting point of the revolution we need and I’m so proud of and inspired by my community. The passion, vulnerability and compassion shone through and together I know we can achieve great things.’’
